Did you feel alone amongst the great crowd of JW's?
by highdose inlike there you were at an assembly maybe, everyone seems to be swarming with freinds, and you are the one left out unwanted and made to feel like you don't belong there?.

I still never feel like I fit in with anyone . I wonder alot what's wrong with me ?
I have a couple of friends that i enjoy being around and doing things with ,but for the most part I feel alone . I don't think that will ever change . As a witness I extended myself to others as much as I could .I was a shoulder to lean on for many ,but just never felt I had anyone there for me .
I think i learned along time ago not to really trust anyone but myself ,and maybe that's the problem .

I found it quite amazing when I first found this website . What a relief to find other people that actually had the same thoughts , feelings and experiences I had ! No longer feeling like the odd person out is a good feeling .
Welcome Ryan and hope to get better aquainted.

(((((Backroombilly)))) it infuriates me the damage done to small children because of this stupid religion ! I was raised in by a believing Mother and from a young age understood never to trust my Dad or Grandparents because they didn't love jehovah ......that is a mind *uck for a little kid ..
I am now free of the "darkness" ,but sometimes the healing process is painful . I am glad you are getting help with it and I think you'll find this place a good place to let out those internal demons you have held in for so long .

Are you a stay at home mom, working woman with or with out children or a combination of both?
by restrangled ini am asking this based on sd-7's posts and am curious what you consider fair as far as house upkeep in the position you are in.. i was raised in the 60/70 decades from parents married in the 1950's so i seem to have a pretty old fashioned idea of what "housewife" means.. when i was working i had no tolerance for any slop habits, but since i'm home i don't require much.. so what are your ideals, how does your home operate?

I was able to stay at home with the kids when they were small (before school age )and I did all the cooking cleaning , housework and yardwork . When the youngest went to school I went to work part-time . The kids and my husband learned to help out around the house (always had to tell them specifically what to do ,but they did it ) The three boys all learned how to cook ,clean and do laundry .
Now that evryone is grown (except my husband ) I am back to doing it all myself unless I am sick then my husband will clean or cook .
Best thing is that he has always cooked breakfast for us on Sunday mornings ,and still does for me ! coffee , pancakes ,sausage and eggs !

want to say hello to all the heathens and worldy ones out there
by avesta inhi i dis - assd myself six years ago and only just found this site.. i wished i had found it years ago instead of having to ween off the cult practices i was born into for 35 yrs.. i had a very hard time adjusting and still find some things difficult to come to terms with.. i bumped into a "sister" i had last seen wen i left last week to find out she had left the "cult" as well and is a qualified reiki master and also a hypnotherapist.
i think it is great she can carry on with her new life despite the ingrained teachings of demons.. i have divorced in the meantime and have done so much in the past six years than i ever did in the 35 years before.
oh and i am much more conteded, i have no one over my shoulder telling me i am wrong for this or that!

Contemporary service with a lively black minister, while wearing my comfy jeans
Went to a service in Chicago that had a coffee shop in the foyer and the Minister wore jeans and tatts .....that one didn't impress me though . felt like they were trying too hard .

My first church service was an equally pleasant experience. I had photographed a wedding inside the church ,and knew a few of the members so it wasn't a total shock ,but still made me a bit nervous to actually attend a service . It was a Methodist church and they were nothing like JW's would have you believe . Pretty much the same experience you described . At least it was not the cold ,white toast type program I was accustomed to at the KH,and I saw nothing wrong with passing the collection plate .
